About the Author

Betty Viamontes is a Cuban-American writer. She was born in Cuba and immigrated to the United States with her family when she was a child. Viamontes is the author of several novels, including Kissing in Havana, The Secret Life of Ms. Finkleman, and Our Lady of the Tortilla. She has also written for television and film.

Viamontes is a recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and the Florida Book Award. She is a member of the PEN American Center and the Authors Guild.
